I say these folks need to be marginalized as much as possible if our social movements have any hope of retaining cohesion and credibility.
Chuck -- There are a couple people like that who are omnipresent in this region. speaking of marginalization and cohesion, did you look at the film by Josh Wolf, both the long and enhanced at the top of http://www.indybay.org http://www.indybay.org/uploads/enhancedvideo.mov Television was referring everyone to this. in the short one you can see me briefly running through the crosswalk. It was pretty spectacular. There were so many things wrong with how that went yesterday. Someone was responding saying "well, why do you think KFC and PG&E (electricity) aren't so bad" but that doesn't quite capture it. It's difficult to phrase what that anarchist group needs to do to improve itself. It's good that Saturday is the slow news day and there were no reporters except within the group. there were many unexplained things that occurred, and I was irritated when a few participants were really mouthy right next to the bleeding police officer - and how he got so hurt is one of the things I'm wondering about - maybe the people running by at the beginning are involved?. the onlookers seemed to be standing around talking to the police like they might to their dad and don't move when the laser was aimed on their chest, but weren't pushing or agitated. Also, there was another set of really calm officers having regular conversations with people on the sidewalk, while right next to them, people seemed to be 'in character' in a drama.
