Hi all.

I've been lurking around this list for a while -- I'm an undergraduate student in England.

I read a discussion here, a while ago, on the merits of a renewed 'mythopoetic narrative'. It was in the context of Barack Obama's speech at the Dem convention.

I was curious to know if anyone had any thoughts about whether/how this sort of narrative could be deployed in popular music. Perhaps in art generally, but I'm particularly interested in music.

Does anybody have any good examples of this or something similiar being done before? For example, are there such things as 1890s Populist folk songs? Or lefty, Swedish folk?

Also, somebody made reference to certain books about the ideational history of the Swedish left. Does anybody know the names of any of those books? I can't find them on the archives.

Thanks and hello again.

Jack.
