Apparently the same is true of the Iraqi resistance - not the Jewish part, but Christian. The eponymous Christian Parenti says that when he went to meet with resistance people, his translator told him never to say he was an atheist - just say Christian. They don't like people who don't believe in God, and when they don't like you, the consequences can be a bit nastier than having JW's knock on your door twice a week.
