Steven Greenhouse is right that many Dems are worried, but that's doesn't mean the worry is justified.

Although part of the argument of the Change to Win folks is the best thing unions can do in the longterm for Dems is organize more workers. The more workers in unions, the more folks will support the Dems.

Short-term mobilization in elections is nice, but far better to build deep connections to workers.

That could mean a little less money in the short-term for Dems, especially for those weak on labor issues like CAFTA, but it's far better in the long-term.
