-When I interviewed her last week, Barbara Ehrenreich cited Jonathan -Tasini's estimate that the AFL-CIO and Teamster HQ in Washington are -collectively worth a billion dollars.

And the overall income of the unions EACH YEAR is in the many billion dollar range-- I saw one estimate of ten billion dollars per year, although that seemed a touch high -- so any serious redirection of resources to organizing can have a massive effect.
