White Rus is the name of a clothing retail store here in Rostov-on-Don! I get the feeling people here didn't like the Bolsheviks very much, which is not surprising considering the population. I talked to a woman the other day who talked about how Red Cossacks (whom she called traitors) expropriated her great-grandfather. However there is a giant Soviet-era statue of Red Cossacks in one of the main squares, and my hotel is on Budenovsky Street. (B being one of Stalin's inner circle and a Cossack by background, I presume from here.)
