Yes, that is part of the story. The other part is territorialism and aggression that has existed for a long time. There are bashed-in skulls from three million years ago. Violence and territoriality did not begin with class society, although they were exacerbated by it. Sorry, there is such a thing as human nature, though it is malleable to a certain extent. -Thomas
