[lbo-talk] US employment

Pretty weak US employment report this morning - just 78,000 new jobs in the establishment survey, with the under-the-surface details not offering much consolation. The household survey was stronger, with a gain of 425,000 nonagricultural jobs, but this is a less reliable measure, and there was a decidedly downscale skew to the jobs (or at least the gainers of jobs) - people without a high school diploma gained the most, and those with bachelor's degrees or more lost. The US labor market is still failing to thrive.
