My mother-in-law (who is a member of the CPC) laughed and told me just last week that she was being offered the equivalent of about 70 dollars just to go to attend a meeting (that's the measure the CPC has to take nowadays). I have yet to meet any active CPC members who actually believe in communism. About the only people who are active are just scavengers wanting to get the perquisites of party membership.

Somebody (Charles, I believe) mentioned in a post the other day that he thought that maybe the CPC was serious when they say that the present situation is just a way of accumulating capital and that they will eventually return to the road of socialism. If that were to happen, they would have no mass base, because nobody would believe them. These guys are bums and only relevant in the way that parasites are. Throw em out.

Thomas
