BBC - The Interview: George Galloway
Fresh from his double triumph in the British elections and his appearance at the US senate committee hearing, politician George Galloway talks to Carrie Gracie on The Interview.
One of the most outspoken and controversial figures in British politics, George Galloway reveals how his political outlook was shaped by his Irish and Scottish roots. He joined the Labour party at the age of 13 - a relationship which ended two years ago when he was expelled after criticising the party for its policy in Iraq.
Now a member of parliament for the new party Respect (the only member elected), he tells Carrie Gracie why his speech to the US senate committee was one of the most important moments in his life and why no one should listen to stories about his taste for champagne and expensive suits.
