It will be a landmark event for the republic, which has not seen a single large rock concert under open skies for 15 years, the organizing committee of the event told Interfax.
The festival was initiated by rock musicians and is supported by the Chechen government.
"Federal troops and Chechen law enforcers will guarantee full security to the performers and spectators," the organizers said.
The organizers want to make the festival an annual event. "The very fact of holding it will destroy the stereotypes of the Russian and world public which certain politicians are imposing with regard to Chechnya and Chechens as a whole," they said.
They said the festival is being financed from a charitable fund named after Akhmad Kadyrov, the Chechen president who died in a terrorist act in Grozny in May 2004.
Interfax will act as an information sponsor of the festival.
Nu, zayats, pogodi!
