why is that? "the opposite is probably the case"? could you elaborate on why you think its probable that indian scientists are less religious than american (lets say white, black) scientists? the majority of indian scientists (anecdotal evidence of course) that i have interacted with, whether in india or in the USA (bell labs) were not only religious (including a belief in god, participation and belief in rituals, etc) but were more so than white american scientists.
