My instincts say that's a good thing.
The issue would seem to be a "doesn't matter" for people who don't own property. Urban re-development of all the major metro areas around the U.S. has been tearing down perfectly good housing for a long, long time, and not often to the benefit of the poor folks that usually lived there.
