As David Brock in his Hillary book relates, HRC in the 80's was on the board of the left-liberal New World Foundation, which gave a grant to CISPES, the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador which supported the FDR-FMLN. She signed off on the grant.

At Yale Law School, she was an editor of the school's law jounal, which published a special issue supporting the Black Panther Party. After Yale Law she worked for Bob Truehaft, CPUSA lawyer, husband of Jessica Mitford.

In '64 she had been a Goldwater Republican. By Yale days, due to the tenor of the times and reading she had done, like the book by SDS leader Carl Oglesby and theologian Richard Schaul on the Cold War, "Containment and Change, " if memory serves, she had moved leftwards.

At the same time frame as HRC was on the board of this left-lin fndtn., , Bill was Gov. of AR., the state in which the Mena AFB airport was being used for supplying the Contras with weaponry. (And, heh, Bill and his loser brother Roger, were snorting up Contra cocaine. As Roger was quoted in a book by one of the Arkansas troopers, "My brother's got a nose like a vacuum cleaner!")

For a book much better sourced on the Clinton's see the one by Roger Morris. Morris was a NSC staffer under Nixon, who Kissinger had bugged. Like Morton Halperin, another NSC staffer under Nixon who objected to the extension of the War into Cambodia, he resigned in 1970. Halperin, due to ties with the left IPS think tank esp. during the time of the revelation of CIA abuses in '75-'76, was given alot of grief by rightist Senators during his confirmation process under Clinton.
