I intend to find out tomorrow when the next city council meeting is. Besides laying out my complaints, I am going to make the following requests:
1) The city issue an apology to the protesters for such an egregious display of force.
2) The city provide an itemized list of the expenditures of the event and publicly apologize for such a lavish expenditure.
Furthermore, I shall point out their hypocricy. On the one hand, the city put posters all over downtown Palo Alto celebrating how they have historically respected demonstrations of dissent against injustice and welcomed the demonstrators; on the other hand, they spend huge amounts of money to bring in police thugs to intimidate those very demonstrators.
