Not necessarily. Even in an advanced socialist regime, it would not be common to 'take' one person's wardrobe for public purposes. The kind of property rights leftists (or most leftists) are concerned to challenge are rights to productive property, not rights to property in its original sense of pertaining to the person. And a swelling place, even under socialism, and even if housing and moving costs were free, there might well still be painful effects of a forced move from one dwelling to another. If the property is _commercial_ property, then fair market value (even with the defects you mention in the rest of your post) would be acceptable.

Lefists, properly devoted to fundamental changes in our social order, too often forget that change in itself is more apt to be an evil than a good. It has been found, for example, that sharp changes, even when highly desirable in themselves, often have a negative impact on the human immune system.
