I think it would be prudent to check the backgrounds of the persons making the claims. Check to see what kind of politics or the intelligence services they might have behind them.

Some Americans who were held hostage in Iran in 1979 are claiming that the country's president-elect was one of their captors.<BR><BR>
At least four former hostages told the Associated Press they had no doubt that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was one of the hostage-takers after seeing him on television.
A fifth ex-hostage, Kevin Hermening, said he reached the same conclusion after looking at photos. But some other hostages said they couldn't be sure.
A close aide to Ahmadinejad denied the allegations. But the White House said Thursday it is taking the reports seriously.
