Actually that is his speciality, isn't it? Knowing the better and doing the worse. And awful as he was he would be so vastly better than what we have got as to make all that seem sort of inbconsequential. It's very depressing.

Well, the term "Clintonian" was invented for that sort of statement. Which is not, btw, particularly lawyerly. I mean, it's one thing if you want to avoid a perjury charge or a finding that you lied under oath -- Clinton missed the first but got the secong, and lost his law license as a consequence. Best to tell the whole truth if you have to say anything.
