I haven't read them but my SO's brother does not allow his children to read them. He is an
xtian fundamentalist and thinks there is something evil or satanic about them and that "good"
xtians should steer clear. He is just parroting his church since he hasn't read them himself. He
does not allow his children to go trick or treating either since that is celebrating satan's
holiday.
If the Narnia stuff is supposed to appeal to xtians why is this brothers fundamentalist church
against reading them? They are opposed to reading Harry Potter too.
I only know the opposition to these books because I mentioned buying some of them for xmas
as gifts for her brothers kids and both brother and wife flipped out.
At least I never have to have them over for holidays since they won't come in my house any
more.
