About 90 minutes ago, the San Francisco Superior Court invalidated the state's ban on gay marriage saying, among other things, "The state's protracted denial of equal protection cannot be justified simply because such constitutional violation has become traditional."

Here's the current Chronicle story: <http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/archive/2005/03/14/samesexruling14.TMP>

Love it. One of last year's few electoral pleasures was watching straight liberal Wilsonian imperialist etc etc Democrats foaming with bigoted rage over gay marriage becoming an issue, and knowing that they shouldn't let it show.

They were able to keep out of the election the international crimes of the invasion of Iraq & the widespread practice of torture supervised by US officers and secret police , but gay marriage slipped out of their control - those pesky fags and dykes in Massachusetts, and the city, and New Paltz... it was SO unfair to the straight liberal democrats...heh...
