I'm sorry US contributors are so down by small turnouts in the US to the March 19th events. In London there was a considerable demo, perhaps 100 000 people.

Let me tell you there was a roar at this demo when we were told that protesters were out in New York. The BBC evening news showed film footage of the demo in New York. This was part of a larger spot on the March 19th protests.

Stop just thinking of the impact you are having in the US. There is a world working class and a world socialist movement. It matters to us here in Europe that there are people in the US who will stand with us and be counted. Would it have been better if on March 19th the US was the one major society where there were no protests?

Let me tell you, what a victory that would have been for Bush ideologues over here in Europe.

Richard Canterbury, Kent.
