Um, did you even pay attention to the vote on Medicaid cuts this week in the Senate? Bush proposed slashing aid and it was only solid Democratic opposition, and a few GOP defections, that led to the budget cuts being restored.

In New Jersey, Dems just raised the minimum wage by $2 per hour, even as the GOP refuses to allow the increase at the national level. For full-time minimum wage workers in New Jersey, the difference between Dem control locally and GOP contol nationally is $4160 per year in income.

$4000 may not be meaningful to you, but for low-income families without your privileges, the difference in their lives is quite large.

It takes a hell of a lot of class privilege to keep yapping about the lack of political differences between the parties. Every serious advocate for the poor and working families, from unions to poverty organizers, clearly see those differences.
