Falwell critically ill with pneumonia

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Doctors for the Rev. Jerry Falwell described the Moral Majority founder as stable but "still critically ill" with viral pneumonia, the same infection he was hospitalized for less than a month ago.
Falwell, 71, was breathing with the help of a respirator Tuesday after being admitted to Lynchburg General Hospital in "respiratory arrest" the night before, meaning his breathing had slowed or stopped. ...
