My room mate, a 47 year old white man, came to the U.S. as a child when his father, an anti-apartheid lawyer, had to leave South Africa... rapidly.
Last year, my roomie got busted for DWH (driving while hippie) on the NJ Turnpike while visiting family. Nothing became of the possession charge.. a fine, and stay out of NJ for a year(easy), but he's expecting weird INS hassles to result. I keep telling him (cynically) "...don't worry you're a middle aged white male, you aren't going anywhere.", but sometimes I'm not so sure.
