this series is using a different tone to predict a different pathway to a very similar result - which would be largely backed up by the Energy Resources Group here. That guy is pushing his negative perspective into it; lots of people already don't have access to much energy for their agriculture, and alternative energy means could be purchased by people with money fairly quickly. but Global warming is what would cause shifts in the location of good farmland regardless of energy dependence, and wealthy people would be in a great position to purchase newly valuable land. http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/?050425fa_fact3 http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/?050502fa_fact3 http://www.newyorker.com/online/content/articles/050425on_onlineonly01
in other news - someone posted an article about obstruction of a supermarket in West Berkeley/Oakland a week ago. The same journalist slammed a fraternity that does hazing this week, and online, they were really pissed off and are planning to sue the newspaper, and said the president was defamed, and they should just talk to him, yet they are so funny because they called the police on him and reported him as a rapist when he came to their door, they keep calling him gay, and he had just reported police calls to the house: http://www.eastbayexpress.com/issues/2005-05-04/news/cityofwarts.html
