I first would like to recognize some wonderful students of my alma mater, Southwest Miami High School. Stand up, guys -- the Eagles. Welcome. Good to have you here. Thank you very much. Welcome to all of you for this hearing. Thank you to Mr. Berman -- and why do I keep doing that to your name, Howard? I just kind of give it another vowel there, Beerman -- and Gary Ackerman as well. In the 2005 inaugural address, President Bush stated, "The policy of the United States is to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and in every culture, with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you." It is in our own vital interest to support democratic rule. Ballots must substitute for bullets as a means of expressing frustrations and voicing demands.
