Sure, I think sex with someone I love is wonderful and special and I wouldn't have it any other way. But, someone else selling sex to someone for money doesn't actually diminish my enjoyment in any way, so who cares if someone wants to sell sex for money.

Just an extension here, not a disagreement with the ever articulate, class conscious Kel.....

It's the buying at the personal level which I find to be alienating. Buying sex diminished it for me some 40 years ago. If others do it to make a living, I'm not fussed at them, I'm fussed at the system which makes that necessary. Unions, sure. No problemo. That's what all workers need--in fact One Big Union would be great! Go I.W.W.!

My vision (pardon the utopianism) of a socialist society is one where nobody SELLS their skills to make a living. The selling of skills is alienating enough--it alienates you from the product of your labour and by extension your own humanity, your life, your power. The social relations we have, under the rule of Capital, have, for the most part, become relations between things i.e. you're an object I can buy. I'm an object you can buy. We're all free radicals bouncing around within a free market. It's ok, if you don't draw a distinction between being a Master of Hounds and having a genuine human connection based on mutual human need--not the need of a boss to make a profit--but the need and desire to live as a human being, not a commodity vendor.

Best, Mike B)

****************************************************************** The American Geophysical Union, issued a consensus statement in 2003 declaring, “Natural influences cannot explain the rapid increase in global near-surface temperatures.” The world is now warmer than it has been at any point in the last two millennia. If current trends continue, by the end of the century it will likely be hotter than at any point in the last two million years. Will you let the "current trends continue"? http://profiles.yahoo.com/swillsqueal
