P&G to invest in Philippines
AFP
MANILA: US consumer producer giant Procter and Gamble has pledged to put 1.5 billion pesos ($27.8 million) in fresh investments into its plant in the Philippines, the presidential palace said on Friday.
President Gloria Arroyo launched the three-year project in ceremonies in Manila on Friday, a palace statement said. The project at Procter and Gamble's manufacturing site in Cabuyao town south of here would make the Philippines a major manufacturing and service hub of Procter and Gamble in Asia, it added.
