Just because a politician claims to be religious, or even act like a religious zealot, does not mean they are truly of that religious faith. They could just as easily be faking it to get votes and/or be popular; when in fact they are more likely agnostic. Except for Jimmy Carter - a fish out of water kind of guy - most of the Presidents have shown hints of skepticism. hell, Lincoln 'could' have very well been an agnostic bisexual (maybe, maybe not). The only other President who kind a showed to be a religious zealot was Truman, and he ordered the dropping of two nuclear bombs [please: no WWJD jokes].
