James Heartfield:

without distinguishing it from the dictatorial regime that held sway in the USSR from 1924 to 1989.

---

Why 1989? USSR collapsed in 1991.

Gorbachev was a dictator?

--- Instead of liberating people from want and servitude it starved and overworked them.

--

What era are we talking about here? Stalin died in 1953. Post-Stalin USSR was quite liberated from want.

---

It was *even worse than* capitalism.

---

Definitely a minority opinion in Russia.

--- It is a shame that the Soviet Union was never overthrown by the working class, but its passing is a good thing, not a bad thing for the left, which can be rid of this negative influence.

---

Say that to most people in Russia and you'll get cursed.

Nu, zayats, pogodi!
