Michael Pugliese :

NOBODY talks about the millions killed by the USG and the French in Indochina, CB?

^^^^^ CB: No , I said:

"You never hear anybody say, "Thomas Jefferson and his posse owned slaves and committed genocide against the indigenous peoples. Or the U.S. slaughtered millions in Indo-China for "democracy". Maybe the term "democrat" has been besmirched and we should get a different name."

So, I didn't say that nobody talks about the millions killed by the USG and the French in Indochina, but that nobody draws the conclusion from that fact of "actually existing democracy's" undemocratic conduct that the terms "democrat" or "democracy" should no longer be used to represent a political goal or important idea. ( See Nathan's post to which I responded ). Whereas Nathan suggests that "communism" should be dropped as a term because of actually exiting socialism's uncommunistic historical conduct.
