APPEAL DISMISSED IN CRIA LAWSUIT!
The decision in the appeal of BMG et al. v. John Doe et al. came out today.
Last year, the recording industry, CRIA, asked the court to order five
Internet Service Providers to disclose the names and contact information of
29 people they allege to have infringed their copyright. At the trial, the
judge refused to give them that information, finding that CRIA had not made
out a strong enough case, and that it was not clear that the acts the 29
were accused of were acts of copyright infringement at all.
