I used to think so, only because Jeb! seems so much sharper and more competent than Duh-Byuh, so he poses a bigger threat. It's hard to be sure though.

Can you compare Jeb! as governor to GWB as President? A governor with Presidential ambitions must be somewhat more circumspect than the President.

Then also, comparing governor to governor, GWB was campaigning in Texas, where racism and sexism and homophobia and service to the ultra-rich at the expense of everyone else, meanness of every kind, is evidently an unalloyed political advantage. Looking at their Senators you conclude the essential factor a candidate must possess in Texas to succeed is that he must act like a swine. In Florida, a good two percent more civilized than Texas, the situation is a bit trickier for a Republican trying to get a majority across the entire state. Jeb! wins the panhandle by coded racism, he can get Orlando by non-stop Bible-thumping, but for at least some of his audiences, he has to pose as a sane person. Is it only a pose? Who knows what evil, etc., etc.
