The peoples of the Baltic states were treated very badly by the Soviet Union and the WEST. But so were the Russian people during the Soviet period. I am disappointed that nations are all too often tied to political systems and nightmarish ideologies - too many very average and ordinary people are lost in the process.
The French vote, to my mind, is an important start to reconsider the teleology of European history - maybe history itself.
