[lbo-talk] U.S. Military Desertion Rates

ok i wasted my time reading yr article below -- it says:

"Cumulatively, more than 6,000 service members from all branches have deserted the military since fiscal year 2003, when the war with Iraq began. About 3,500 military service members have deserted their jobs in the last 14 months."

so yr right -- the "activimists" need to get their facts straight -- its 6000 not 5000 deserters.

I wonder why you didn't send an email titled "5000 deserters not so bad, actually" if that's your point.

btw, if you do some googling yourself you can find some good statistics on historical *wartime* desertion rates you are really that interested in the subject -- none of your links put this in the proper context.
