Can we, as enlightened progressives, please put this imperialist ditty behind us once and for all? As a child I was forced by my militarist parents to dance the "Hokey Pokey," as well as the Peppermint Twist, and the resulting trauma haunted me for years. Who knows how many children went through the same brain-washing ritual. Is it any wonder that Bush is president?
