I never could grasp it why English speaking folk on both sides of the pond make such a big fuss over Tibet? There are many disputed territories - from the Basque country on their doorsteps, to Kashmir, East Timor, Darfur, Kurdistan, and dozens of other much bloodier than Tibet disputed territories. So why making such a big stink about one obscure feudal theocracy - is it the pomo version of yellow peril-ism, or what? Likewise, is the Anglo fixation with Chechnya a pomo version of getting back at that ancient barbarian at the Europe's gate Russia?
