Given the extent of the horror resource rich Africa has faced with at least 10 million killed in the past decade in the Congo, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, etc, those who flee end up somewhere and no where are masses of brown or black people welcomed. They suffer the plight of refugees everywhere. It is a shameful reality and what will those who have conscience do as the numbers of free trade casualties increase by the millions and millions?
It will be important to keep paying attention (Really, critical to activate solutions) to such developments as the unfolding crisis in Mexico and all countries south impacted by the rape and pillage of narco free trade capitalism forces millions to flee north. While the riots escalated in France, i heard the hatemongers on the radio blaring that the French should be killing Africans and Americans should be killing Mexicans. The similarities are too disturbing.
A very alarming situation is the emergence of hyper violent gangs from Central America. Tho born in the U.S. to refugee as well as ex death squad parents, over 25,000 young men have been deported once they've been arrested for misdemeanors and felonies to countries they are not familiar with. Often not even speaking Spanish, strangers to residents, they end up on the streets with other diaffected youth and a surplus of U.S. made automatic weapons. They formed gangs that have made inroads to the U.S. where many use machetes to kill their perceived enemies. The excessive torture-rape-killings of young women in Central America, which is compared to similar killings in Ciudad Juarez, are thought to be carried out by these gangs, tho it cannot be certain at this point. There are just too many ex death squad killers, their off spring, orphans, child soldiers and others crafted in the art of slaughter.
It would not be surprising if some of the youth rioting were not also involved in attacking their own women. This is part of the global rise of femicide. There is an emerging global pattern to how women are targeted by their own men, the police, the military, and on and on..... After all, the torture, rape and mutilation of women is a hallmark of the School of the Americas. I am afraid it is spreading like the sickest of all wildfires. The poor children....
