As I said before, Michael is auditioning for a position as a State Department socialist. Alas, demand for that commodity has dropped to zero with the ending of the cold war.

Memo to Michael:

Why don't you just become a neo-con and get it over with? There is still a demand for them, and those who have in recent years made the jump, from David Horowitz to the execrable Hitchens still seem to be prospering. I am sure there must be a place somewhere (if only in some Washington think tank) for a gay neo-con ex-leftist. There is still time to cash in.
