Once again just put up with Marko's excesses with the , "Z magazine neo-Stalinists, " rhetoric and read his piece...
=====================
Listen Michael, I think I know what's going on. There are a lot of people, a lot of silly people, who look to Chomsky as modern primitives look to God, unquestioningly as a source for all good things.
You post these links as a kind of statement that Chomsky's not perfect, he's made mistakes and so on.
The thing is, I don't believe a nearly 5,000 word essay written by some fellow who, as Doug says, is going through a "...rite of passage for hacks making a rightward move" is really the way to make that point.
At the end of all that reading (and it's just so much Michael...so very much) what prize will I have in my long brown hands? The knowledge that Marko thinks Chomsky was wrong and even worst than wrong, underhanded in handling his alleged wrongness.
What was it Quentin Crisp said? A lifetime of listening to disco music is a high price to pay for one's sexual preference.
Yes.
Well I say that reading a long Marko Atilla Hoare essay about that awful man Chomsky is far too high a price to pay for...well, anything.
