NPR actually did a short story on the Waveland Cafe tonight, run by Rainbows since a week after Hurricane Katrina hit. I was hoping to check it out along with my goal to be of help to the Houma Nation, the Indians hurt by Katrina and virtually invisible to most. Never got further than helping Food Not Bombs direct volunteers and donations as well as a few desperate victims via phone and email while Keith McHenry went to visit FNB in Lagos, Nigeria.

The most marginalized struggles invariably attract Rainbows as well as Food Not Bombs. I am proud to be one of the marginalized with fearless consicence. It was Rainbows and Hippies who answered the call for human rights obeservers, sheepherders, etc.,of the Dineh elders at Big Mountain as so many of them know how to live without electricity and running water. FEMA tried to get the Rainbows to teach people how to survive a Nuclear war due to such skills, but Rainbows declined.

In peaceful struggle, swaneagle
