Not to mention howlers like his claim about '640K of RAM being enough for anyone', comparing the evolution of the PC/software environment with the evolution of cars, and the virus disguised as an OS; Windows ME. And lets not mention his books. Seriously, lets not, they're awful.
He's a sharp business dude, I'll give him that, but even there he has managed to replace acumen with brute force; if your software does its job better than Windows look forward to getting bought up or your next version having 'compatability problems' with Windows. Pulling a fast one on IBM on the license for DOS over 20 years ago was pretty clever, but enough to make him an intellectual? No way.
