I don't see a lot of difference between rational choice individualism
and irrational choice individualism or X-choice individualism. It is the
focus on choice and on individualism that structures thought under
capitalism. It is from that core which gives coherence to the
Engels/Marx thesis that the ruling ideas of an epoch are the ideas of
the ruling class. Variations on that core are mostly irrelevant to
understanding an epoch.
