But he was a lawyer who worked for The Hartford - "the best surety bond man in the country," it was said of him. Another lawyer-poet (and long-time LBO subscriber), Lawrence Joseph, told me recently that surety bond lawyers have the reputation of being wild and crazy guys. Who knew?
