Burstein, decades before becoming an investment advisor for the Blackstone Group specializing in the PRC was cadre in the maoist group that published The Call. He was part of a delegation that toured Democratic Kampuchea during the Khmer Rouge era. Wrote up their observations in The Call, their party newspaper.
