Anime tip of the day: check out Satoshi Kon's "Paranoia Agent", now just
showing up in US video stores. It's a 13-part series in the grand
tradition of Anno's "Evangelion" and McGoohan's "The Prisoner" -- stylish,
vivid, entertaining, hilarious, and subversive as heck. The clues pile up
until the end... but do let the final credits roll through, because
there's one more "preview" after the finale which adds a marvelous plot
twist. Kon, the creator of the superlative "Millenium Actress" and "Tokyo
Godfathers", is one of the finest progressive anime artists out there
today.
