A friend from LA just told me a weather fact which, although far less destructive than Category 5 Hurricanes or Minnesotan tornados, seemed to have even more a "snowball in hell" quality about it: last year Los Angeles got more rain than Seattle.

And yes, I've googled it, and it is true. And yes, I've learned Seattle doesn't rank as high on the rainfall charts as its reputation. But still.

___________________________________ It rained a lot in So Cal this past winter and spring. San Diego received its third highest rainfall on record, while 2002 was the driest year ever recorded. However, a graph of the yearly rainfall totals since record keeping began in 1850 indicates that such dry/wet cycles are fairly common. Not the strongest evidence for the apocalypse . . .
