Venezuala to develop civil nuclear program: President
Venezualan President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday that his country will start a civil nuclear program to diversify the country's energy supply structure.
Many countries in the world such as Brazil and Argentina have been developing nuclear energy and Venezuala will do the same, said Chavez.
The president also stressed that Venezuala's nuclear program will be within the framework of the plan for seeking alternative energy sources. Chairman of Venezualan Scientific Research Institute Maximo Sucre said recently that the Venezualan government has already consulted Argentina, Brazil and Mexico about its plans to develop nuclear energy.
He said Venezuala needs at least six years to train personnel and build facilities for its nuclear program.
