http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/15/AR2005101500742.html -------------------------------- Here are some similar incidents just in the past week, although I wouldn't necessarily say that the 'far right' is that much more numerous or powerful in germany- the U.S. will look worse when unemployment goes that high.

One thing I've noticed is that articles covering protests on american indymedia sites tend to present mostly photographs with a few lines of text, while the german newswire usually has long reports and few fotos. And in activism there, everyone has to go to hours long pre- and post- meetings for every action and discuss all the ramifications, and much more so than that ANSWER marches, you get more of the feeling that everyone in the crowd knows what is going and has read a common syllabus. The water cannon looks entirely expected and anticipated.

in order of intelligibility http://de.indymedia.org/2005/10/129788.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2005/10/129801.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2005/10/130121.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2005/09/128314.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2005/10/130101.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2005/10/129902.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2005/10/130069.shtml

What is alarming is when the nazis joined the palestinian movement plus 'antiglobalization', and they dropped the anti-foreigner emphasis: http://www.de.indymedia.org/2003/05/50358.shtml

Germans also have a different visual standard of clothing and presentation. there are a lot of signs in english. The antideutsch look different http://de.indymedia.org/2005/01/105472.shtml http://de.indymedia.org/2002/12/36901.shtml
