When I was about to retire from full-time college teaching, I sent out 
several rather caustic fulminations about our colleges.  When I complained 
about students, someone on one of these lists took me to task and said that 
I had to learn how to deliver things in discrete five-minute sound bites to 
accommodate today's low-attention-span students.  That was five years ago.  
Probably be two-minutes now.  Glad I quit.
